Mission Statement
Christian Community Chapel, believing the inerrant Word of God, is committed to reaching multicultural communities with the assurance of Eternal Life found only in Jesus Christ; to prepare God’s people to become mature followers of the Lord; to honor, adore, and praise the living God in small and large groups of believers; to develop loving relationships with each other as a unified body of believers; and to use our God given gifts to love and serve others, here and around the world, in the name of Jesus.
Statement Of Beliefs
The Bible- We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the inspired and infallible Word of God, and are without error in the original writings. They are the supreme and final authority for faith and life.
God- We believe that there is only one true living God, Creator of all things, who is revealed to us in the Old and New Testaments as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are equal but have distinct functions within the Godhead.
God the Father- We believe that God the Father is the first person of the Godhead.
God the Son- We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, is fully God and fully human, was born of the virgin Mary, lived a perfectly sinless life on earth, and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. He rose bodily from death and ascended to Heaven and is the only mediator between us and God. This accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone.
God the Holy Spirit- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who draws sinners to Christ, convicts us of sin and gives us new life in Christ, indwelling us and empowering us to live godly lives.
Humankind- We believe that God created people in his image so that we might enjoy an intimate relationship with him and authentic community with each other. We defied God by sinfully going our own way. As a result, we need God's saving grace to end our alienation from God.
Salvation- We believe that salvation is a free gift from God to us entirely apart from works and is by His grace through faith in Christ. It restores us to fellowship with God and delivers us from the bondage of sin and death.
The Great Commission- We believe that God desires us to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel of the grace of God. Therefore, we take seriously the great commission to evangelize and disciple the lost both here in our community and elsewhere around the world. This includes missionary works to extend Christ’s love to the needy around the world. We seek to be and make disciples who not only proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ but also display Him. Nothing must divert us from carrying out our Lord’s Great Commission until His glorious return.
The Church- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ and that the true Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been renewed by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Church universal. The Church is representative of the Body of Christ, of which He is the Head.
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper- We believe that these are the two ordinances that are given to remind us of what Christ has done for us. Baptism shows forth a believer’s repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Lord’s Supper commemorates His death until He returns.
Spiritual Gifts- We believe that God has uniquely created and gifted each believer for building up and serving the Body of Christ.
Sign Gifts- We believe that the gift of tongues was the ability to communicate with other people in a language that already existed. The sign gifts were given to the early church as a sign to unbelievers of the apostles’ authority prior to the revelation of God’s Word. We believe that these gifts are not normative today, and if they are manifested, must be exercised according to 1 Corinthians 14.
Prayer- We believe that God desires His people to pray and that He hears and answers prayer. We declare that intercessory prayer is the key to unleashing the power of God in His church. Furthermore, we believe that the ministries and activities of Christian Community Chapel will be characterized by our reliance on prayer in their conception, planning, and execution.
End Times- We believe in the bodily, personal and imminent second coming of Jesus Christ, as He has promised. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, believers to conscious eternal blessedness in God’s presence and joy with the Lord, and unbelievers to conscious eternal punishment and separation from Him.
