Christian Community Chapel One Word for All Nations
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." - John 1:14 (NKJV)
In August of 2000, seven families held a meeting to discuss the formation of a new church congregation. A letter was drafted about the formation of this new fellowship and to invite others to join. The first Sunday morning Praise and Worship service was held at the Somerset Marriott on Sunday August 27, 2000. The service was attended by approximately 300 adults and children. For the first five weeks, worship services alternated between the Somerset Marriott and the Ramada Inn. Then the fellowship began meeting at the Somerset Quality Inn.
In September of 2000, an interim Board of Elders formed to begin the organizational work necessary for creating a new church. This group served until the first Annual Meeting where a permanent Board of Elders was elected. Just a short time later, the church began looking into property at Brookhaven Farm. In April of 2001, the church began renting this property and established a Parsonage there. In June, the church office relocated to the Parsonage; and on July 13, 2001, the church completed the closing on the property.
